THE DIVINE REVELATION AND BIBLICAL FOUNDATION

                                     OF THEIOS DIVINUS ALTAR CHURCH

Our Origin, Our Vision, Our Name, and Our Divine Mandate

“A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out.” — Leviticus 6:13 (KJV)

1. The Vision God Gave to Pastor Martin Lubega Timothy

By the grace of God, Pastor Martin Lubega Timothy received a vision from God in which he saw an open Bible beneath a globe, with flames of fire burning upon the surface of the globe. Through this vision, God revealed a spiritual mandate concerning the mission, purpose, and identity of the ministry.

The vision communicated a divine calling: that the ministry should work to establish the inner altar of the fire of God's Gospel, love, and virtues in the hearts of people throughout the world. This calling involves nurturing and sustaining the fire of God's truth and love in the hearts of those who have already received the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, while also carrying the message of salvation and divine love to those who have not yet received it.

The vision therefore represents both the preservation of the Gospel's fire in the hearts of believers and the spreading of that fire to the hearts of people who have not yet embraced the salvation of Jesus Christ.

It is a calling to proclaim the Gospel, cultivate the virtues of God, establish Christ-centred faith in human hearts, and encourage believers to remain spiritually alive and steadfast in the Lord.

In connection with this vision, God gave the ministry its foundational Scripture:

“A fire shall be kept burning on the altar; it shall never go out.”

 Leviticus 6:13 (KJV)

This Scripture became the spiritual foundation of the ministry's motto:

THE FIRE MUST BE KEPT BURNING ON THE ALTAR.

The altar fire, as understood through the New Testament, speaks of the continuing work of God in the hearts of believers: a life of faith, love, holiness, devotion, obedience, and commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The vision of the open Bible beneath the globe, surrounded by flames of fire, therefore expresses the ministry's worldwide Gospel mission, its biblical foundation, and its commitment to keeping the spiritual fire of God's truth and love burning in the hearts of humanity.

2. Understanding the Old Testament as a Shadow of New Testament Realities

To understand the biblical significance of the ministry's name, it is essential to examine the relationship between the Old Testament and the New Testament.

The Scriptures reveal that certain institutions, ceremonies, events, and practices of the Old Testament served as shadows, patterns, or types pointing forward to greater spiritual realities fulfilled in Christ.

Colossians 2:16–17 teaches that matters such as religious festivals, new moons, and Sabbaths were a shadow of things to come, while the substance belongs to Christ. Hebrews 10:1 similarly explains that the law possessed a shadow of the good things to come rather than their complete reality.

These passages establish an important principle for understanding the origin of our ministry's name: the Old Testament provides patterns that help us understand the spiritual realities revealed through Jesus Christ and the New Testament.

The Old Testament Patterns and Their New Testament Fulfilment

Speaking about events in the history of Israel, the Apostle Paul writes that these things occurred as examples for believers and were recorded for our instruction.

In 1 Corinthians 10:6, Paul explains that these events serve as examples, while 1 Corinthians 10:11 states that they happened as examples and were written for the instruction of those upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

These Scriptures demonstrate that the history of Israel is not merely a record of ancient events. It also provides lessons and patterns through which believers can understand God's dealings with His people.

For example, Paul describes the Israelites as having been baptised into Moses in the cloud and in the sea (1 Corinthians 10:1–2). This event provides a biblical pattern that can be considered alongside the New Testament teaching concerning Christian baptism.

Likewise, the Sabbath rest observed by Israel points beyond the mere observance of a particular day to the greater reality of rest found in God.

Colossians 2:16–17 warns believers not to allow others to judge them concerning food, drink, festivals, new moons, or Sabbaths, describing these things as shadows of what was to come, with the substance belonging to Christ.

Hebrews 4 develops the theme of God's rest further. The writer directs attention beyond Israel's weekly Sabbath observance to the rest associated with God's own rest at creation and the promise of entering God's rest through faith.

Hebrews 4:9–10 declares that a rest remains for the people of God and explains that the one who enters God's rest also rests from his works, as God did from His.

The passage uses the Greek term sabbatismos in Hebrews 4:9, referring to a Sabbath-rest or Sabbath celebration. In its context, this points to the promised rest of God's people rather than simply repeating the command to observe a particular weekly day.

Consequently, the New Testament directs our attention to the greater spiritual reality to which the Old Testament patterns point. Christ stands at the centre of this fulfilment, and the believer is called to enter God's rest and live in the reality of His redemptive work.

Christ: The Light of the New Creation

The relationship between the Old Testament creation account and the New Testament revelation of Christ provides another important illustration of this principle.

Genesis 1:3 records God's command:

“Let there be light.” — Genesis 1:3 (KJV)

The Apostle Paul draws upon this creation imagery in 2 Corinthians 4:6, declaring that the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness has shone in believers' hearts to give them the light of the knowledge of God's glory in the face of Jesus Christ.

This passage reveals a profound spiritual truth: the God who brought physical light into the world is also the God who illuminates human hearts through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ therefore stands at the centre of God's redemptive purpose. Through Him, believers receive the light of the knowledge of God's glory and are called to walk in the truth of the Gospel.

This understanding is essential to the spiritual identity of THEIOS DIVINUS ALTAR CHURCH. The ministry's calling is founded upon the Word of God and directed towards the proclamation of Christ, the cultivation of faith, and the establishment of God's truth and love in human hearts.

3. From the Old Testament Temple to the Believer as God's Temple

One of the most significant New Testament realities concerns the dwelling place of God.

Under the Old Testament covenant, the tabernacle and subsequently the temple served as sacred places associated with God's presence among His people. The temple contained an altar upon which the prescribed sacrificial fire was to be maintained according to God's instructions.

Leviticus 6:12–13 records God's command concerning the altar fire. The priests were responsible for maintaining the fire, and the instruction was explicit:

“A fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.” — Leviticus 6:13 (KJV)

This command was given in the context of Israel's priestly worship and sacrificial system. The fire had to be maintained continually as part of the worship prescribed under the Old Testament covenant.

However, the New Testament reveals a significant development in the biblical understanding of God's dwelling among His people.

Through Jesus Christ, believers are brought into a relationship with God in which the Holy Spirit dwells within them. God's presence is no longer understood solely in relation to a sacred building; the New Testament identifies the believer as a temple of the Holy Spirit.

First Corinthians 6:19 declares:

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” — 1 Corinthians 6:19 (NKJV)

This Scripture establishes the sacred responsibility of every believer who belongs to Christ. The believer's body is not merely a physical dwelling but is described as a temple of the Holy Spirit, who has been given by God.

The New Testament thus calls believers to honour God with their bodies and lives, walking in holiness, obedience, and devotion to the Lord.

The temple imagery also reminds us that the Christian life is not intended to be spiritually empty or indifferent. The believer is called to live in fellowship with God, allowing the truth of His Word and the work of His Spirit to shape every aspect of life.

4. The Divine Altar Fire in the Hearts of Believers

The connection between the Old Testament altar and the New Testament believer is central to understanding the spiritual vision of THEIOS DIVINUS ALTAR CHURCH.

In the Old Testament temple, the altar fire was to be maintained continually according to the commandment of God. It was part of the priestly system of worship and carried great significance within that covenant.

In the New Testament, the believer is described as a temple of the Holy Spirit. This provides the theological foundation for understanding the ministry's vision of an inner altar: a life in which faith, love, devotion, holiness, and commitment to the Gospel remain alive.

The ministry does not understand the New Testament altar as a literal sacrificial fire that must be maintained within the human body. Rather, the image of the altar fire expresses the spiritual calling to keep the life of faith burning in the hearts of believers.

Just as the Old Testament priests were commanded not to allow the altar fire to go out, believers today are called to remain steadfast in their devotion to God, preserve the truth of the Gospel, grow in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and walk in the love and virtues revealed through God's Word.

The ministry therefore emphasises the importance of nurturing the inner life of every believer so that the Gospel is not merely heard with the ears but embraced in the heart and expressed through a transformed life.

This vision has two essential dimensions:

First, keeping the fire burning in the hearts of those who have already received the Gospel. Believers are to be encouraged to remain firm in faith, grow in the knowledge of God's Word, demonstrate Christlike love, pursue holiness, and serve the Lord faithfully.

Second, carrying the fire of the Gospel to those who have not yet received the message of salvation. The ministry is called to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, share the message of God's love, and invite people everywhere to receive the salvation offered through Him.

In this way, the imagery of the altar fire represents both spiritual growth within the Church and evangelistic mission beyond its walls.

The vision of the globe surrounded by flames expresses the worldwide scope of this calling. The open Bible represents the Word of God as the foundation of the ministry, while the fire symbolises the continuing spiritual passion to proclaim the Gospel and cultivate faith and love in human hearts.

Together, these elements communicate a commitment to biblical truth, spiritual transformation, and the worldwide proclamation of the salvation of Jesus Christ.

5. The Revelation Behind the Name: THEIOS DIVINUS ALTAR CHURCH

Having considered the vision received by Pastor Martin Lubega Timothy and the biblical principles concerning Old Testament shadows and New Testament realities, we can now understand the spiritual reasoning behind the name of our ministry.

Through the vision, the ministry was directed towards a calling to establish the inner altar of the fire of God's Gospel, love, and virtues in the hearts of people throughout the world.

The biblical interpretation of this vision rests upon several interconnected truths:

- The Word of God is our foundation. The open Bible in the vision signifies our commitment to the Scriptures as the foundation of faith, teaching, ministry, and Christian living.
- Jesus Christ is at the centre of our message. The New Testament reveals the fulfilment of God's redemptive purposes in Christ, through whom believers receive salvation and the light of the knowledge of God's glory.
- The believer is a temple of the Holy Spirit. First Corinthians 6:19 establishes the sacred identity and responsibility of those in whom the Holy Spirit dwells.
- The altar fire represents a life of continuing devotion to God. Drawing upon the imagery of Leviticus 6:13, the ministry emphasises the need to nurture faith, love, holiness, and commitment to the Gospel in the hearts of believers.
- The globe represents our worldwide mission. The ministry seeks to carry the Gospel of salvation and the message of God's love to people throughout the world, while encouraging those who already believe to remain spiritually steadfast.

It is from this combination of the vision and its biblical interpretation that the ministry's identity is expressed in the name:

THEIOS DIVINUS ALTAR CHURCH

The name embodies the ministry's understanding of its divine calling: to establish and nurture a life of faith in which the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the virtues revealed through His Word remain alive in human hearts.

The ministry seeks to proclaim the truth of Scripture, encourage believers to grow spiritually, and reach people who have not yet received the message of salvation.

Its identity is inseparably connected to the vision of the open Bible beneath the globe, surrounded by flames of fire—a representation of the Word of God, the worldwide mission of the Gospel, and the spiritual fire that must be kept burning in the hearts of humanity.

6. Our Foundational Scripture and Ministry Motto

The foundational Scripture of THEIOS DIVINUS ALTAR CHURCH is Leviticus 6:13:

«“A fire shall be kept burning on the altar; it shall never go out.”

— Leviticus 6:13 (KJV)»

From this Scripture comes our ministry motto:

THE FIRE MUST BE KEPT BURNING ON THE ALTAR.

This motto expresses our enduring commitment to the proclamation of the Gospel, the nurture of Christian faith, the practice of godly love, and the cultivation of spiritual devotion in the lives of believers.

It reminds us that the Christian life calls for continued faithfulness. The Gospel must be proclaimed, the truth of God's Word must be preserved, the love of Christ must be demonstrated, and believers must be encouraged to remain steadfast in their walk with God.

The fire must continue to burn—not as a literal flame within the believer, but as a spiritual reality expressed through living faith, prayer, love, holiness, obedience, evangelism, and service to God and humanity.

7. Our Divine Mandate to the World

THEIOS DIVINUS ALTAR CHURCH understands its calling as a ministry of the Word, spiritual formation, evangelism, and Christ-centred service.

In accordance with the vision received by Pastor Martin Lubega Timothy, the ministry seeks to:

1. Establish the inner altar of faith by encouraging people to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ and build their lives upon the Word of God.
2. Keep the fire of the Gospel burning in believers' hearts through biblical teaching, prayer, discipleship, worship, and spiritual encouragement.
3. Proclaim the Gospel of salvation to those who have not yet received the message of Jesus Christ.
4. Cultivate the love and virtues of God by encouraging believers to demonstrate Christlike character, holiness, compassion, faithfulness, and obedience.
5. Uphold the authority of Scripture by teaching the biblical foundations of the Christian faith and directing people towards the truth revealed in Jesus Christ.
6. Reach people throughout the world with the message of salvation, the love of God, and the transforming truth of the Gospel.
7. Encourage a living relationship with God by reminding believers that they are temples of the Holy Spirit and are called to honour God through their lives.

These commitments reflect the central purpose of the ministry: to see people receive the Gospel, grow in Christ, and live as faithful witnesses of God's truth and love.

8. Our Conclusion: The Meaning of the Divine Altar

The vision received by Pastor Martin Lubega Timothy, when considered alongside the biblical teaching concerning Old Testament shadows and New Testament realities, provides the spiritual framework through which THEIOS DIVINUS ALTAR CHURCH understands its name and calling.

The Old Testament temple contained an altar upon which the fire was to be maintained continually according to God's command. The New Testament reveals that the believer's body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. From this biblical truth, the ministry draws its emphasis on the inner altar: a heart devoted to God, established in the Gospel, and continually nurtured in faith, love, holiness, and obedience.

The name THEIOS DIVINUS ALTAR CHURCH therefore expresses the ministry's understanding of its God-given vision and biblical mandate.

We are committed to the Word of God as our foundation, Jesus Christ as the centre of our message, the Holy Spirit as the One who dwells within believers, and the Gospel of salvation as the message we are called to proclaim throughout the world.

We seek to encourage those who have already received Christ to remain steadfast in their faith, while reaching those who have not yet received the Gospel with the message of God's saving grace and love.

The globe in our vision speaks of the world to which the Gospel must be carried. The open Bible speaks of the Word upon which our faith and ministry are founded. The flames speak of our continuing commitment to nurture the spiritual life of believers and spread the message of salvation. Together, they represent our vision of a world in which the truth of God's Word and the love of Jesus Christ take root in human hearts.

May the Lord strengthen us to remain faithful to this calling, proclaim His Word with integrity, demonstrate His love in our lives, and serve His purposes throughout the world.

THE FIRE MUST BE KEPT BURNING ON THE ALTAR!
